Terms and Conditions

"Company", "we", "our" or "us" means Story Grid Publishing, which owns the Site and its Content.

"Site" means thestandard.pub, together with the subscriptions, contributions and products offered through it.

"Content" means all writing, artwork, design, photographs and other material published on the Site or in the magazine.

"You" or "your" means any person who uses the Site.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully and in their entirety before using the Site. By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

When using the Site you agree not to:

• Use it for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these terms.
• Copy, republish, sell or distribute the Content except as these terms allow.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or to interfere with its operation.
• Submit information that is false, or that belongs to someone else without their permission.

The Content is owned by us or by the writers, editors and artists who created it, and is protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing on the Site transfers ownership of any Content to you.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read the Content and to keep a copy of any issue you have subscribed to or contributed for, for your own use. You may not redistribute it, share your digital editions publicly, or use the Content commercially without our written permission.

Where you send us material, including a name for the Honor Ledger, you grant us the right to use it for the purpose you sent it for. A Founding Contributor's chosen name is published on the Site and printed in every issue, which is the recognition being offered and is intended to be permanent.

The Standard is offered on three bases: a free digital edition delivered by email, an annual Physical + PDF subscription, and a one-time Founding Contribution. Prices are shown at the point of purchase and are payable in US dollars.

Payment is taken by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your card details.

Where a subscription renews annually, it continues until you cancel it. You may cancel at any time and the subscription will run to the end of the period you have paid for.

Printed issues are dispatched after publication of each issue. Shipping within the United States is included in the price shown. International orders are charged actual shipping cost with no markup.

Publication dates are announced in advance. We will tell you if an issue is delayed.

If an issue arrives damaged, or fails to arrive, tell us and we will replace it.

A Founding Contribution funds the production of the magazine for a fixed period and is offered as a one-time commitment rather than as a purchase of goods. An annual subscription may be cancelled at any time, which stops future renewals.

The Standard publishes writing and editorial analysis. Nothing in it is a promise that following any method will produce a particular outcome for your own work.

The Site and the Content are provided on an as-is basis, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

The Site links to websites we do not control, including our payment processor. We are not responsible for their content or their terms.

We take care over what we publish, but the Site may contain errors. We may correct them, and may change prices and offerings, at any time.

We may update these terms. The version published on the Site is the version in force, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top of this page.

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the Company is established, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
